AI use policy
- AI may help with code, outlines, summarising sources, and first drafts of guides.
- Nothing AI-drafted is published without human fact-checking and editing.
- Data pages use only data-driven template sentences. There is no AI filler text on data pages.
- Spinning text to dodge a similarity check is itself spam.
Guides and sources
Guides are written or heavily edited by a named author, who fact-checks every claim against its source before the guide is published. Every health, safety, legal or numeric claim links to where it comes from.
We cite only primary, authoritative sources:
- Federal and state government agencies, such as the EPA, CDC and state radon programs.
- The World Health Organization.
- Universities and university-run programs, such as Kansas State University's National Radon Program Services.
- The national radon proficiency programs (NRPP and NRSB) and standards bodies (AARST, ASTM).
- Peer-reviewed research.
We don't cite blogs, manufacturers, retailers or other commercial sites for facts. Our build checks every guide's links against this list.
Guides are general information, not medical, legal or professional advice. We don't test or fix homes. For advice about your home, contact your state radon program or a certified radon professional.
Reviews
Reviews will be hands-on only. Products are bought or received, run in a real home, and photographed in that home. Readings are logged against a reference device or a lab test. No review is written from manufacturer specifications. We haven't published any reviews yet; seehow we test.
Corrections
If you spot an error, contact us. We fix it, and a corrected guide gets a new "last reviewed" date.
