How we test

Every radon detector and test kit review will be hands-on. Products are run in a real home, photographed, and compared against a reference device or a lab test. No review is written from manufacturer specifications.

Where testing stands

We haven't published any product reviews yet. Testing begins when our review devices arrive. Until a product has been tested, it appears on the site only in a clearly labeled sponsored listing, never as a recommendation or a "best" pick. See our affiliate disclosure.

Our process

  1. Buy or receive the product.
  2. Run it in a real home alongside a reference device.
  3. Log readings over the test period.
  4. Compare the results with the reference or a lab test.
  5. Photograph the device in the home.
  6. Publish the review with the tester's name, the dates tested and the readings.
